Bitcoin is Back at Microsoft After a Short Break

Sources confirmed that Bitcoin is back at Microsoft after a short break. We all are aware of the step Technology giant took when they stopped accepting Bitcoin at their stores because of its volatility. But now Microsoft has reversed course. And once again they are allowing people to use Bitcoin currency to pay for their online apps and Xbox games.

The company told Australian News about this update on Wednesday that people can now add Bitcoin to their Microsoft transaction wallets. The company ensures that lower bitcoin amounts would be redeemable by customers. A Microsoft spokeswoman addresses the news and confirms the suspension. But also said now they are resuming the service. “We’ve restored bitcoin as a payment option in our store after working with our provider to ensure lower bitcoin amounts would be redeemable by customers,” she told the publication.

Furthermore, it came as Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan Boss) said he regretted calling Bitcoin currency ‘fraud’ last year at a September banking conference. “The blockchain is real, you can have crypto dollars and stuff like that, ICOs [initial coin offerings] you’ve got to look at everyone individually,” he said in an interview with the fox business news.

Bitcoin is on a wild ride over the past months. It goes higher one day, like in mid of December 2020 the Bitcoin cryptocurrency almost hit 20,000$. And just after some days it drops over 22% and comes to 15,262$. In December, video game company Valve also stopped supporting Bitcoin on its Steam platform. The company reported it would no longer support the currency on its platform “due to high fees and volatility”. But maybe just like Microsoft, they will accept Bitcoin at some other time.
