The glamour of Oscar 2021 has makeup for all the glitz and fashion we missed last year due to COVID reasons. We all were craving for the red carpet awards of Hollywood last year and we didn’t really like the celebrities dialing in virtually in Award ceremonies. But finally, Oscar 2021 has come to our rescue. All the glamour, extraordinary dresses and fashion last night has satisfied our cravings for glamour.
The celebrities win our hearts with their elegant and vibrant colored dresses. From the adorable suit of Alan Kim to Andra Day’s gold goddess-like gown, these 93rd Academy awards didn’t disappoint us. Here are major red carpet looks from last night’s academy awards.
Regina King; A Queen in Oscar 2021
Already an Oscar winner thanks to a heart-winning acting performance in 2018’s If Beale Street Could Talk, King starts this year with her directorial debut, One Night in Miami. The film took three nominations in last night’s award ceremony. With this Regina has been a real presence in almost every show.
On this red Carpet, she entered with a custom, fairy-tale, pale-Blue Louis Vitton Gown. It took 62,000 Sequins, 3,900 Crystals, and 140 Hours to make Regina King’s jaw-dropping look like this Oscar. Along with this look, her little speech on Chauvin’s Verdict wins our hearts in few minutes.
Andra Day: A Goddess in Oscar 2021
Andra Day’s stylist, Wouri Vice, sums up her metallic golden dress as; “There’s cut-outs, leg, peekaboos, it’s a scandal.” Andra Day was nominated for her first Oscar for her amazing role in The United States Vs. Billie Holiday. Vice also says that her dress is neither Classic Wang nor Classic her it’s just the way Day sees herself as a woman. A woman of color: “powerful, beautiful and sensual”.
She made her entry with someone special, her big sister. Day had dreamt up of this Golden metallic dress some time ago. And thanks to Vice and Vera Wang, her dream turns into reality and shook us with her glittery and sparkling presence at the Oscars last night.
Alan Kim: A Real Winner Of Oscar 2021
Alan Kim steals the spotlight last night with his adorable dressing. This nine-year-old has been nominated for his acting in the film Minari. Alan’s mother accompanied him to the award ceremony. The actor wore a head-to-toe custom, Thom Browne Suit. He went for a tiny set of shorts paired with a blazer and bow-tie, 4-bar striped socks, and a set of shiny little brogues.
He won the Oscar even before the ceremony started with his little dance on Red Carpet. In a red carpet interview with Giuliana Rancic, Kim was asked about the most loved thing when filming Minari, to which he responded “everything.” Also, the interviewer asked who he was most excited to see at the awards, he responded with a cheerful, “I’m fine with anybody!”. His cute little poses on the carpet, his style, and his attitude attract and win the hearts of all of us.
Laura Dern’s Dress has Our Hearts
We all remember Björk’s iconic swan dress in the Academy Awards of 2001, well Twitter is comparing laura’s dress to its avian predecessor. Laura won the best-supporting actress for ‘Marriage Story’. This year she returned to present the best supporting actor category. She entered the ceremony with an ornately feathered Oscar de la Renta frock. She contrasted this feathered frock with a turtle neck plain black, long-sleeved top.
Her dress really shows that Laura is one of Hollywood’s best-dressed women. People were going crazy over twitter and gives an amazing response. Twitter user @anita_magica posts a pic of laura in this dress with a caption; “Absolutely fascinated by Laura Dern’s skirt. I wanna pet it.”
Emerald Fennell in her Emerald Dress
The writer-director for ‘Promising Young Woman’ starring Carey Mulligan in the lead, Emerald Fennell appear at the ceremony seven months pregnant with her second baby. Her movie scored five nominations in Oscar. She won the Oscar for best original Screen Play for rape-revenge satire.
Fennell is a well-known personality in the industry, especially because of her brilliant role of Camilla Parker Bowles in the Netflix hit ‘The Crown’. She was looking beautiful in Floral Gucci Gown. With a little bit of pink in places but mostly green dress, Emerald was really glowing in these spring colors.
Martin Desmond Roe and Travon Free at Oscar 2021
Martin and Travon won best live-action short for their film “Two Distant Strangers”. Their stylish tuxedos came complete with a touching tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. They sported Dolce & Gabbana pins with the numbers 24 and 2, which were the jersey numbers of Kobe and his daughter.
They wear the Dolce & Gabbana suit lined with the names of those killed by police brutality in the US. Free with his “Two Distant Strangers” co-director, Martin Desmond Roe, wore black jackets with yellow lapels. They opened them up on the red carpet and reveal a series of names, including those of Daunte Wright, Tamir Rice, Stephen Clark, and many more.
Maria Bakalova in Her Stunning White Dress
Maria Bakalova is the first Bulgarian ever nominated for Oscars. Not just nominated she won the award of Best Supporting Actress for her role in Borat Subsequent Movie film. She has been in the acting industry for twelve years now but it was the first time she performed in a comedy, English-speaking movie, Borat 2. And the performance leads her to Oscar. Isn’t this great?
She was a princess in a stunning Louis Vitton gown at Sunday’s Oscar. The dress was as elegant and flamboyant as Bakalova herself is. And with the flare in her dress, she really has maintained the social distancing amid this pandemic. While talking to the interviewer, Giuliana Rancic, she admitted that;
“It’s one of these things that you’re, like, am I dreaming?” she said. “Am I living this dream? It’s beyond all of my expectations.”
Amanda Seyfried
A red dress on a red carpet always looks flawless. And Amanda Seyfried was looking flawless and radiant in the Giorgio Armani Privé fresh red-colored dress. She made an entrance as a Best Supporting Actress nominee for ‘Mank.’ It is fair to say that Armani Prive understands the importance of striking the first impressions in Oscar Event. And this year he proved by designing a beautiful tulle ball gown for Amanda. She opts to complete her look with Forevermark jewelry and stunned everyone with her stunning getup.
Daniel Kaluuya and Riz Ahmed
Kaluuuya and Riz Ahmed played it pretty well by going for plain and razor-sharp black and navy tuxedos. Daniel gets nominated and wins best supporting actor Oscar for Judas and the Black Messiah.
Riz Ahmed made a dramatic entry with his wife Fatima Farheen Mirza at Oscar 2021. He got nominated for the best actor award for Sound of Metal and also holding ground as the first Muslim best actor Nominee. Riz’s fans went all gaga over his lovely gesture when he stopped for a second to fix his wife’s hair.
“I’m the official groomer,” he joked as the married duo posed on the red carpet.
Chloé Zhao
Chloe Zhao was really the star of Sunday’s Oscar. She won the award for Best director of her film Nomadland. The film got an amazing response from the public and people appreciates the depiction of the Nomadic lifestyle. She shared Oscar’s spotlight with Swankie, one of the stars of her film.
She wore a long-sleeved lHermès dress complete with delicate beading. And she really dares to wear sneakers along with her dress at the 93rd academy awards. In short, she was looking gorgeous in all her simplicity, wasn’t she?
