Why a short gap would be unusual for Rockstar

Rockstar usually makes PC players wait. Grand Theft Auto V launched on consoles in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, a gap of about 18 months. A Q1 2027 date would cut that wait to roughly two to four months.

Should you wait for PC?

If you only game on PC, the report is good news, but it is not a date you can plan around yet. If you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and want to play at launch, the console version is the only confirmed option.
