How to take a Screenshot on Mac OS X

It is too easy to capture a screenshot on Mac Os X. The Macintosh has some keyboard shortcuts that you can use to capture your screen in Mac OS X.

  1. For the entire screen capture, press Command-Shift-3. The shot will be saved as a PNG file on the desktop.
  2. To copy the entire screen, press CommandControl-Shift-3. The snap will be placed on your clipboard.

  1. Press Command-Shift-4. A crosshair cursor will appear so click and drag to select the area you wish to capture.
  2. Press Command-Control-Shift-4. After the crosshair cursor appears Click and drag then release the mouse button, you can paste the shot to another application.
